– Why Marysville is a Must Visit for those seeking to Connect with Nature & Slow Down.

So firstly, thanks very much for your time. Problem. What I wouldn’t mind doing is just asking a few questions about yourself and what you look for in holidays and the like, and a bit about Marysville. But I’ll lead you through these questions.

Vicki

Sure. Okay. My name is Vicki. I am 64 years old. I work full time in Knoxfield as a receptionist.

I am single and my caravan is my happy place, I bring my two dogs on all of my holidays.

I just find Marysville  is one of my favorite places to go. It is absolutely beautiful, so relaxing with beautiful serenity.

It reminds me of a mini Bright, but so much closer to home.

As I live in Berwick, and such a beautiful drive going through the Black Spur.  .You’ve just have to  experience it.

Kim and the other staff are absolutely beautiful. Nothing is a bother. Staff are always happy to reverse my van, and offer to help set up.  This is so appreciated as I struggle with my arthritic hands at times.

I like how the park caters for all people.  You can go from a  tent to bring your own van to a cabin or try one of the new luxury cabins. The amenities are always clean, the park is not a noisy and you meet lovely friendly people

I think it’s priced really well. It’s great. I Like how you can pick your site.  I personally love near the beautiful flowing river with the ducks and ducklings, fire pits with BBQ’s, tables and seats.

The lovely country pub is a must and so close with beautiful meals and great menu choices.

I find the people are very friendly. It’s good that you can have the campfires at the Park. That’s a plus but the biggest plus for me is dog friendly and not to far from Berwick.

Thank you for that. Do you mind if I ask you a few more questions? So you normally travel solo, do you or do you sometimes bring up friends?

Vicki:
Yes I do at times but other times I have family and friends that I bring. They love it just the same as I do and want to go back again.

I’ve been going to the park for around 5  years now. I try to go twice a year.

Because I’ve only got a double bed in my van, my friends and family hire a cabin.   My daughter took her  dog and stayed in a dog friendly cabin,  which was  great

That’s wonderful! What kind  of activities do you like? Do you do any other holidays besides going up to Marysville during the year?

Vicki:

I only go to dog friendly caravan parks.. One of my dogs is an  epileptic and both dogs  have seizures  so I won’t leave them. Kim kindly gave me the vets name and number in case I needed it when I was there.

From September to April, I went away seven times in my caravan. I promised myself when I bought my van, I would take it away 6 times a year, in which I do.  But Marysville park is my favorite. . I go to NRMA caravan park in Cowes, NRMA Bairnsdale, Big 4 Traralgon,

I love going for walks, going for high country scenic  drives, Bruno’s Art & Sculpture Garden is unreal.  We all loved going to see Steavenson WaterFalls.  The drive to Lake Mountain Alpine Resort was so pretty

Nice and why do you think that Marysville is one of your favorite holiday park?

Vicki: The position, the town and  the places to see, its tranquil and very relaxing. its a place where you leave all your worries at home and forget about them  It’s got beautiful parks, walks,  great bakery. wonderful street sculptures,  The memorial is outstanding. and is so quaint and the serenity is beautiful. There’s nothing like it.

So you were mentioning before, you’ve been going to Marysville Holiday Park for a few years now. When’s the first time you went up and what was the reason that you decided to visit Marysville for the very first time?

Vicki:

It was recommended to me when I was saying I liked Bright caravan park  I have been going to Marysville for around 4 years

So you mentioned Bright before. Marysville is obviously a bit closer to Melbourne. So can you just draw a little bit more of a comparison between Bright & Marysville for me, please?

Vicki:

To me they’re much the same. Only Marysville, the drive is nicer, and much closer to home,  More things to see and do.  Smaller town.

And it sounds like you’ve you’ve you go off in your caravan a bit. Is that the only accommodation you’ve utilized up at Marysville?

Yes. My friends hire a cabin there. I have just booked again with another friend who is taking her van in October and I am going again in March

And you’ve mentioned nature a number of times are there any other key factors that has you being drawn back to Marysville?

It’s just a pretty, pretty place. There’s not many places like it. As I said, I haven’t come across a little quaint country town with so many beautiful things like it before. . You know, the shops and the accommodation, the pub. Yes, it’s got everything that you want and it’s not that far away for me.It’s so laid back. It’s so friendly.

I went away seven times last year and I’ve promised myself I will go away six times. You know, from September to April I go to Bairnsdale, I go to Lakes Entrance, I go to Traralgon. Big four cows, Marysville. I seem to do the same. Parks

But is there anything that you would consider that you would like to see? If you were, if you were trying to create your perfect like when you go away, you go away for a week or is it a few days.

I would like to see more lights in the park.  I find it very dark of a night and scared of tripping. You’ve got everything. That’s why I keep going back., . As I say, dog friendly is number one for me. Yeah And I love it that you have the campfires. There’s a few parks that don’t have the campfires anymore.

You’ve got nice, clean amenities. I don’t think there’s anything else that I could think of Marysville Holiday Park has got everything.

If you could just give give a couple of minutes on your experience with staff and how they make you feel and everything there.

[00:12:37] . Last time I was there, our firewood ran out. Office was closed as it was night.  we phoned Kim and she said, just help yourself. And pay for it tomorrow. And I thought, how many parks would do that? I mean, is that trust or what?

I particularly love Kim. She’s got the personality. Her customer service is fabulous. She is such a asset to the park. She’s so easy to talk with. She’s so accommodating. She will do her best to  help in any way she can.

When we were down there last time, she was decking out a new cabins, she took the time out to show us,  wow we were impressed. We really appreciated her showing us.

She never rushes you off.

With me being on my own, my caravan only goes forward. So Kim’s always got someone to park it for me.I went to another caravan park and they said “Oh no, we’re not reversing it”

When you have made recommendations or suggestions to your friends on coming to Marysville and coming up with you, how have you described Marysville?

I just say it’s such a peaceful, pretty  place.  It’s serenity. You forget about your worries. It’s just relaxing the river, running through it. It’s always so clean. If you’ve got some worries and you just want to take time out, Marysville is  the place to go.

Is there a  a particular time of year or like have you gone at different times of the year?

I  know Marysville is a colder place, so I try and go anywhere from November to March. I try and go when it is warmer because I don’t like the cold.

Okay. I’m very, very fortunate to have been given this time, Vicki, with you. Thank you so very much.

Well, thank you. I’m glad you chose me to speak about my experiences at Marysville because it’s such a beautiful place.

And obviously I’d encourage you to reach out to Kim and book.

Yes. I normally book I’ve got my one favorite site. I’ve had 3 or 4 different sites. I’ve worked out which site I like now, and Kim knows that. And yes, as I say, she’s very accommodating. I know last time I got down there, I booked a site and I had a look around and I thought, oh, Kim, can I have this site? This one’s better.

“Yes, of course you can, Vicki.”

So yes I’ve worked out my site now, my permanent site down there where I always come to.

Hopefully I’ll, I’ll get to cross paths with you. Yeah. When you’re up and and we can we can have a bit of a chat. I’ve got a dog myself, Champ. Yes, he goes on short holidays with me as well.

Oh, that’s just so important. How could I have a holiday and leave my dogs at home? I couldn’t do that. My dogs are my world. I gave up on men years ago. You know, the dogs are my world and it’s just fantastic down there.

It’s beautiful. Once again, thank you so much for your time, Vicki. I really appreciate it.
